BRUNCH WITH BRENDAN

 

Saint Brendan's Feast Day is on May 16.  Join in a celebration of our parish patron on Sunday, May 18

Every parishioner (and invite a friend)! - Come to Maxwell Hall at 11:15 on Sunday for delicious brunch by many parish groups, beautiful music by Stephanie O'Leary, and inspiring insight by Fr. John Keehner, rector of St. Columba Cathedral Parish, on "Saint Brendan & Celtic Hospitality," plus prizes!

     VALLEY BIBLE STUDY (VBS)

 Catholic Bible Study  based on the Sunday readings.  This weekly study and reflection session will be offered on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30 pm and repeated on Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 am at St. Brendan Parish in Room 103.

THE DIOCESE

RABBI MEYER LECTURE "The Worldwide Future of Interfaith Dialogue" will be the topic of the free annual Rabbi Samuel Meyer memorial Lecture, to be held on May 12 at 7:00 pm in Ohev Tzedek Synagogue, 5245 Glenwood Ave., Boardman.  The speaker is Rabbi Alon Goshen-Gottstein, internationally known scholar and author from Jerusalem.  The lecture series honors the memory of the late Rabbi Meyer, co-founder of Jewish/Christian Dialogue in the Youngstown Diocese along with Fr. George Balasko.  A question/answer session and refreshments follow the lecture.

Are You Feeling “Stressed Out”?

Licensed counselors with Catholic Charities Regional Agency (CCRA) will be offering a stress workshop at the Agency’s administrative office, located at 2401 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, on the following Tuesdays: May 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Using a “Stress Map,” participants will explore resources and responses to stress, including strengths, weaknesses, burnout zones and coping strategies.  Please pre-register for the series by calling CCRA at 330-744-3320. A $5.00 donation per session issuggested to cover the cost of materials.
